i don't know about Cavy's but the one for Hondas just make your car run an open loop all the time and it kills gas mileage.
Open loop is the stage when your car just turns on...w/ the high idle and a little more power because it runs a little rich. It does give you more power, but your car will get shitty mileage and idle really high.

how much gas milage will i actually lose? and can i use a programming box to switch to stock or to the performance chip when i want it for speed? thanks again :)

Its not worth it. All it is is a $0.25 resistor that you can easily pick up at a auto shop.

You wont do anything but burn up shit loads of gas and you wont even get any power. Running rich doesnt add any power, if anything it takes away.

It actually does add some power but when you weight that against the fact you burn through gas like crazy and it is frying your engine like I said its just not worth it.

it only would help if you had a free flowing intake and exhaust and even then it wouldn't help that much...its definately a rip off.....

ok, these mod chips all over ebay, are cheap resistors that you can get at radio shack for less then a buck. They make your car run rich. After awhile your computer will pick this up and alter the settings and go back to stock even though you have this "chip" installed, killing any hp (if you were lucky enough to make any from this mod in the first place)

the resistor chips are crap...I used one once, it ate a bit more gas (2-3 MPG), it "farted" when i got off the gas...NO performance advantage, just made it run richer.

euh....for those who said the chip works....remove it NOW NOW NOW NOW whenu read this....ok if its a 95+ cavalier...its not chipable dude!! all its gonna do is trick ur comp to make it dump more fuel and make ur engine go like SH*i*T, 2nd option is: its gonna make ur fuel economy go down REALY bad if it blows ur sensors and 3th possibility and not the less important..its gonna just FRY ur comp! fried comp=not good!!

Ya Ive seen Jaysons car, the "supercharger" is just a made up story so no one else would know about the chips. Its just plastic, cardboard and krylon.
Sorry for blowing your cover dude...
