i want to know if there is any carbonfibre bonnets that fit the crx vtec? that can be shipped to england, also i want to know if there are projector lights that fit the vtec.
if theres not ive heard that you can swap the bonnet and lights to the 16v version, as i know you are able to get bonnet and lights for this but not having any luck finding them for the vtec
also if anyone knows the requirement for mot in england please get in touch. i have a straight through exhaust on my 1990 crx vtec but have been told by a mate that a car before 1994 does not require a catalyct convertor

by CRX VTEC do you mean just that your CRX has a VTEC engine? I've got a japenese '89 CRX w/ a B16A2 (which is VTEC). Cause there are definitly sources to get carbon fiber hoods/bonnets like extreme dimentions, ViS, bodykits.com, etc. Also here is where I got my projector lamps, they are located in California, USA however. So that might not be a distance you'd go for somethin to be shipped. http://www.autodynamic.com/transfer/products/headlamp_assemblies_aftermarket_headlights.asp
Good luck

i believe you have the EDM CRX VTI with a b16a1? parts that should be compatible with your body trim should be the 90-91 USDM CRX SI and the 90-91 JDM CRX SIR. I dont know very much about the specifics of the EDM CRX, but, i would assume they are very similar in body, interior, and under the hood with the JDM CRX SIR.

my car is a 1990 crx vtec and always has been, its a uk car and i know that the 16v have different bonnets and lights to the vtec version, what im asking is if you change both the bonnets and lights will these fit on my car, as the 16v has lot more suppliers of mods.
surely if you buy your lights from america your lights will be beaming at the wrong angle as americans drive on the opposite side of the road to the english

The "16 valve" is unclear to us Americans considering our DX and Si models both have 16 valves and btw, the "vtec" also has 16 valves...

That's the craziest thing I've ever heard. You can adjust your head lights so they shine wherever you want them to.

any of the usdm si, jdm SIR, or edm VTI 90-91 crx body parts should fit your car. as for the specifics, go through the manual, because there are some differences in the EDM models. are the EDM models the same throughout Europe?

Not been on here for a while….
Anyway, you’re asking UKDM/EDM specific questions on here which most of the guys on her (US based) will not know much about.
Your cars chassis code is EE8 same as the JDM EF8, these have different hood/bonnet and headlights to all USDM and all EDM/UKDM/JDM CRX’s that came with the D16 (1.6 16V non VTEC engine cars). There are people in the UK that have had CF hoods/bonnets made, post/search on the CRX-UK forum…

With regards to the headlight question, there are no VTEC projectors unfortunately, and if you want to fit 16V/Si headlights than you need to modify both the bumper and hood/bonnet as the VT lights are longer and narrower compared to the 16V lights.
You do not need to have a cat on your car as you mate said, so you will be fine with a straight through exhaust.

Emmissions tests on cars came in after August 1992, Vehicles fitted with catalysts and first used before 1st August 1992 are not subject to the catalyst emissions test. Therefore even if your car had a cat but was registered before August 1992, then you're not required to keep it on by law.
The EDM/UKDM version of the JDM Si (1.6 16V 130PS) is called a 1.6 16V and not Si in Europe. These have the same headlight and hood as the USDM cars. The VTEC equiped CRX's had a raised centre section to clear the taller block.
The only exception with regards to both headlights and hoods is that the late spec JDM Si and 1.5 came with a facelift VTEC hood and headlights.
