why is my car up shifting to soon....

it hits about 2250rpm and then up shifts, causing the enging to bog BAD because it's dropping the rpm's to like 800-1200 after the shift...

this all happens in "drive" it shifths fine it I run the gaers manualy....

any ideas???

I ahd the same probelm. It's a modulator valve for the trani. It's at the front of the transaxle. Easy to change and not expensive. Fix the problem, and your mileage improves as well.

yea, I thought that but, kinda tested it by the haynes manual instructions...

I think it's ok....

are you sure?

well, I called my AP store and it was like a 12 dollar part.... bought it, replaced it, but it did NOT fix it.... any other ideas?

cuss at it and drive it manually hell the only time my cavalier didnt get manually shifted was when my gf drove the car the rest of the time i was powershifting it all the time AND it acually amazingly enough increased mileage
