Tepramental HVAC

Shortly after I had the rack and power steering goodies replaced on my car, the HVAC started acting up. I am not sure if these items are connected, but here is the problem.
Sometimes when I turn on the HVAC, regardless of what ever setting it is on, nothing happens. I can turn the center switch from full AC to defrost, and nothing. But, when I turn it off,
I can hear the hissing of air like it does when it is off... and I can hear the vents inside switching when I switch from the AC side to the defrost side.
but then, if I come back a few hours later of the car just sitting, it turns on.
bad relay possibly??
thanks for all possible help and/or solutions.

Check The Resistor For The Hvac System Could Be Bad

and just where could I find the resistor?
and how would I know exactly which one to look for, is it clearly marked as the one for the HVAC?
thanks.

The Resistor Should Be Located On The Actual Blower Motor Itself. Usually Under The Passenger Side Dash.

When you mentioned "nothing happens," what do you mean? You can hear the flaps change, but the blower does not run? Have you tried different fan speeds? If high speed works but one or more of the other three speeds don't, then the resistor block is probably the culprit. If it doesn't work on high speed either, you may want to check the fuse for the blower and the motor itself.
Do you have a volt meter or test light to check for power at the blower motor?
