Well, I was on my way home today and a person in front of me slowed down to turn, I was goin about 40 once they turned and I went to drop the car into 2nd because some person was tailgating me. I got boost then my car backfired very fast while pushing the gas. Not loud pops, kind of suttle ones. Well I went to try to see if it would do it again at another light and it didnt. Any idea what could have happened?

I'm not sure but it sounds like it could be detonation. what kind of boost you running? Do you have a fmic?

do you mean, after deccelerating you touched the pedal lightly and it was popping a bit? thats just from unused fuel. most cars with efi dont shoot fuel into the combustion proccess while the car is decelerating with 0% tps until somewhere around 500 rpm

Well, Im running around 20 lbs but I get fuel cut when it hits in 3rd gear around 5k rpms, but usually when i drop a gear and floor it, everythigns fine. Its almost like when you have bad plugs and wires, it kinda bogged down. Now that I think of it thats what it was mostly like. I replaced the wires like 13k miles ago and the plugs 3 times since then.
