questions about using 2wd low....

hello all, my 92 rodeo currently needs a front cv shaft. I still like to do some light offroading, and I like to use low for the gearing, so I just put it in 4wd low and keep the front hubs unlocked, I was wondering if this could possibly hurt anything or is bad for the transfer case or anything like that? Its a 5 speed by the way if that matters, thanks guys.

This shouldn't hurt anything. The front drivetrain / CV shafts will just spin within the hubs at a speed to match the rear.

right, I see what you are saying. When I have the front hubs locked while in 4wd, the front cvshaft pops like crazy, but when they are unlocked it doesnt, so I shouldnt be hurting anything right? I guess this is one benefit to having manual locking hubs, with auto locking ones there is no 2low, unless you get a disconnect.
