Has anyone experienced losing power assist turning to the right but normal opperations to the left? Fluid levels seem to be OK.

This sounds like a problem with the rack and pinion. Have it checked either by the dealer or a mechanic. You can lose steering control if bad enough. This is similar to the recall that was done on the Grand Prix a few years ago.
