My AC doesn't work on my 93 lumina Z34. The clutch doesn't engage on the compressor when the AC is turned on. Any possible solutions why its not engaging besides the compressor being bad ? Also does anyone know which type freon was used for that year? I'm not sure if it uses R12 or R134a.

First guess: Low refrigerant pressure. Probably from a small leak. Around here, the A/C stops working because of cold temperatures causing the refrigerant pressure to drop.
My '92 takes R-12. Haven't looked at the '93. There should be a sticker on the compressor (or somewhere else on the A/C system) with recharge information.
