91 cutlass ciera 3.3 L

Can anyone tell me why my coolant fan motor will not work? Car will do ok till stop and go driveing then it wants to get hot at stop lights.

Several reasons, bad fan temp sensor, bad fan relay, bad wiring to fan, bad fan itself. I would test the fan with a hot and ground to the connector to see if it is bad. If so replace the fan. If it works then try the relay. If that checks out try the fan sensor located on the radiator. All can cause the problems you describe.
