What does your name mean?

I know what my name means...but thought this was a good laugh anyway :)

Quyen

The name Quyen is a Vietnamese name which means 'bird'. Birds are so common and prolific that for the most part they are just taken for granted that they exist and not given much thought. But most of do like to hear the birds chattering in the trees and love to see the sight of returning birds in the spring. Bird watching is a great hobby and millions of us have bird feeders simply to draw birds to our yard simply so we can just look at them. So, what scriptural or spiritual significance can a bird have?

According to the Bible not even a sparrow falls without the Father taking notice. Nothing or no one is too small or insignificant in God's eyes. This being true then it is no surprise that God has use for a seemingly small and useless bird. However birds do provide at least one service that is just a simple routine part of their lives. They eat insects that are a nuisance in the garden and eat several times their body weight, ounce for ounce, every day just to stay alive. That is a lot of bugs! In the spiritual sense Quyen would be one who attacks and gets rid of irritating pests sent to aggravate and impede a Christian's walk That, all by itself is a mighty useful thing to do.

Quyen may feel as though she is small and insignificant, but if she looks at the broad picture, as her Savior does, then His would not be complete without her. When she has given her heart to the Lord to make of it what He will, Quyen becomes an integral part of God's universe. We all have need of the Quyens that are in our world.

Mat 18:10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

I think I'm going to puke:

Peter

The name Peter means 'little rock'. What use is a little rock? In God's hand it can do many and mighty things, for little is much in the Master's hands. Rocks have been used to build walls, pave paths and build foundations. And this is what Peter is, a small piece of the foundation of which God builds His church. Many times Peter feels he is not of much use; that he has little or no gifts or talents to offer God or His church. But when Peter gives his all over to the Lord Jesus Christ he great in His sight.

Peter seems to be just a natural kind of guy and until he gives his all to the Lord. Whatever way in which he may stand out from the crowd in the natural pales in comparison as to how he truly stands tall when anointed by God's Holy Spirit. Peter is a very capable man in many ways. Many people call on him for help in so many ways for so many things that sometimes he may feel 'used up'. However, as he seeks God's face he is renewed again and again.

He is solid; unmoving in his thoughts and attitudes on may subjects. Just like the Rock on which he stands, Peter is a rock for those in his life. He is not infallible and when he does fail Peter knows to Whom to look for forgiveness and strength to continue.

Pro 10:25 . . . but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.

In other words, a stubborn bastard who doesn't know when to walk away :p

I AM YOUR STRONG GOD!

NONE OF THIS WHIMPY PATHETIC CHRISTIAN GOD CRAP!

ONLY GOOD STRONG MANLY GODS ALLOWED!!!!!!

Andrew

The name Andrew, or Andy, means "manly" To be manly means to posses strength of some kind. This strength could be some moral or intellectual power, or possessing some great resource such as wealth or talent. Of course Andy could be a really strong man also, it is just in the interpretation of his name physical strength is not a factor.

Andy has many areas of strength. He is one that can be leaned on in a time of trouble and one who can be counted on when the rough times comes. He is not easily swayed, in his opinions or judgments. But mostly he has strength of character, moral excellence and firmness. When Andy loves or cares for someone, it is not a light thing.

His love is strong, and tough. Andy is one who any one would want to have on their side when sides are taken. Physically, Andy may or may not be a 'big man' but, on the inside, where it counts, , Andy is a giant of a man.

Eph 6:10 . . . be strong in the Lord, and in the power of His might.

I am your LORD! and you shall be strong in the Power of my Might!

Or you will feel it come down upon you!

The name Eric means 'one who rulesˇ¦. Jesus, the Prince of Peace, is our ruler. He sets the standards by which we are to live our lives. God has chosen Eric to do the same in his own life that others may follow his example.

A ruler makes decisions, not only in his own life but in others as well. That may not seem to be what Eric is doing, but he is nonetheless. He does this by making some choices, right or wrong and then influencing others to do the same. Eric may or may not be conscientiously trying to get others to follow his example. But the Lord has given him the ability or even the anointing to do so. Those around him tend to do what he does, like he does and when he does.

Eric can be a hero or just one who rules with a hard hand. But when he follows the direction of the Holy Spirit in his life, he exercises control in his own life by doing what he knows is the right thing to do. Eric is one who is not wishy-washy when it comes to his beliefs or standards. When these are modeled after the principals of the Word of God he then has the favor of God upon his life.

Pro 25:28 He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

hmm...acctually this is so true eh..I do believe this..coz inside refers to me well..i stand by my beliefs and i do what is right and what is wrong..

and yes..

I RULE..:D

The name Paul means 'little'. To word little means a small amount, quantity, or degree, according to the dictionary. Scripturally speaking to be little would simply mean having no strength of your own and thereby having to be dependant upon God, for everything. Paul, when he understands just how small and helpless he is in his spirit man can then turn to his Maker who will make him a giant of a man through the power of God's Holy Spirit.

Everyone at one time or another feels inadequate for the task set before them. Paul does too. However Paul has learned to turn to God to help him and be his strength. By doing so he is able to do many things that causes him to shake his head in amazement for he knows that in himself he simply is not able. He understands the weaknesses of his fellow man and therefore is an apt listener and counselor for those who come to him. And others do come to him. They come because they see the things in life he has overcome, the things he has accomplished and the goals he sets and achieves.

Paul's greatest gift is knowing just how small, weak and vulnerable he is without God. He is not pretentious or puffed up in himself. When Paul feels he is small, that is when he is standing tall in God's eyes.

John 15:5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

Well in that case I think we should swap positions in life.

You can come be an underpaid student and drive a Honda Civic, while I go marry a Doctor, have a cool job where I get paid to do nothing, and I drive a nice R33 Skyline. :finger:

The name Nick means ‘victory of the people’. When Nick has given his heart to the Lord Jesus Christ, He makes him become victorious in many ways and in many areas of his life. The most important thing Nick learns is how to overcome the wiles of the wicked one who has come to plaque his life
Because of the meaning of his name, the Lord gives Nick ample opportunities to use the skills that He has given him. He intends for him to use these to triumph over his adversary. This of course means he will be met head on with hindrances, obstacles and even limitations that will make it very hard for him to achieve his goals
As he works through the trials and hardships in his life Nick experiences a joy that few others ever know. Joy just doesn’t happen in one’s life, it develops through what one experiences. Nick experiences this joy and he spreads it to those in his life. Through what he learns he is able to help others to overcome the obstacles set before them in their lives also

translation: "Your life does and will blow, but you will be one of those idiots that enjoys it. Oh yeah, something about a prick that wants to screw your life up more than it apparently is."

I think Jesus was just the first cartoon character. They took a dilusional 5' 4" Hebrew and turned him into a 6' 3" prodgial white man."
