hey man,
I have a 6 bolt 4g63t that I have no use for. If you're interested Let me know. I really don't have a set price but am looking to get in the range of $800 for it + shipping. I can work around with shipping options. No biggie. Probably be best to email me if you're interested or want more info. Email@ dragontattooo86 @ yahoo . com

Are you getting rid of your current engine? I need a 7 bolt for my 96 talon TSI. If you are maybe we could work out a trade.

I could get you a block/engine or just about anything else from a local junkyard. None are turbo engines, but there is one complete 6 bolt. You live in MN right? I'm up north. I'll pull it for you if you come pick it up or pay for shipping. Oh my mom owns a wreath business and she has some thing worked out with "Spee Dee" (UPS an Fed Ex competitor) so that she can ship stuff out of her ware house. We just put it in the trailer and they come get it the next day. They are dirt ass cheap, IIRC a big box (60lbs, about 24" X 24" X 42") costs like $15 and we are allowed to ship stuff other than wreaths. The season ends kinda soon and the snow is going to start staying so if you want it let me know.

EDIT: I can get lots of 1g NT stuff 6 and 7 bolt, 90-91 or 92-94, and maybe some 1g turbo stuff from another yard. I dont think there is any wrecked 2g stuff anywhere up here. PM me if you need something.

how much do you think it would be for just the j-yard one? cause I could come pick it up no problem. I plan on building it from the bottom up so i dont think theres a difference between the turbo and non turbo besides the compression and a few other minor things.

If I remember right he said something like this:
The whole engine "as is": $150 (possibility of cracked head, etc)
A good head: $150 (we have to get it pressure tested, but they will make sure we get a good one or our money back)
A block: $100
I'm pretty sure that is what he said. I PM'd Kevin about 6 bolt NT's and he said the only differences in the block are a different compression ratio and no oil squirters, but some people take them off anyway. I'm not sure on they head, but I know the cams are different. I know for sure that there are 3 complete engines out there, one is in a 90-91, one is in a 92-94 (possible 6 bolt, can remember the year) and one is on the ground under a propped up 90-91. Just let me know man and we'll get something worked out.

Well basically all I really want/need in the block because im going to be replacing all of the internals anyway and I'll just use the head and anything else I need off of my 7 bolt. I'll know more of the situation tomorrow about when i can get it, so I'll let you know then

Will your 7 bolt head match up to the 6 bolt block? I thought that there was a significant difference between the two heads?...

From what I understand, the only difference in the heads is the 1g flows better, but the 2g is more efficent. So with a port job the 2g is the best choice, but I could be totally mistaken also.

Ahhh ok, I knew the 1g flowed better but I didn't know the 2g head was more efficient... See, I was told that a 2g head couldn't be mounted to the 1g block without a good bit of machining done to it. I'm not sure what doesn't line up but thats what I was told... Maybe I'm wrong too, I donno.
