WIP NSX- really wwwide and speedster

I begin the project some month ago, like a bodykit on NSX (old kit>brake fluid etc.): do you remember old porsche speedster? '80 ones (tamy kit) was an inspiration to me. Some beginning and updated steps.

and now sawwwwwww
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/nsx6.jpg
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/nsx5.jpg
I mill down F&R fenders in order to create space for huge wheels :iceslolan
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/nsx7.jpg
and now first basic shape of "speedster style"
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/nsx8.jpg
I fill some panels line: I want just two shells (like most of Gr5) front and rear (openable), and in the middle only two doors (or at least 1 should be sufficient :evillol:)
expected finishing: pearl white with RA272 livery, a couple of red cyrcle #11 number and may be a couple of BAR colors shapes (greengrayred) stencils. However that beast is intended as a street supercharged.
updates soon with a big snorkel, roll bar and a supercharged VTECV6 with huge exausts and other jokes
Oh: I'm enjoying so much that project: hoping you also.

thank'lot everyone, guys I'm really happy that this "joke" is welcome to you
and amusegt1: I've a big secret new for you: the nsx is intended as a training to allow scratch skills come back(also I intend to finish that soon to check the fantastic pearl white), so if you intend to do a s2000gt1 or a carbonR JUST RUSH:grinno:: I'm planning that soon and I'm collecting the few refs I find right now!:smile::smile:(I'm just hardly impressed by my drift on both in gt4)
so if everyone like to help me in these refs (I just found out Dalle Carbonare's fantastic pics) is welcome for sure

nice idea, like the wide fender flares, on another note, if you're looking for ref pics of the amuse Carbon R i do believe the magazine JTuner did an article about it for their november issue, i havent found it in stores yet being im in canada and its a british magazine, but if you can find it there should be some good pics of it in there

some few updates: when I said big snorkel I tought it really big:iceslolan
I begun to model up the body with epoxy putty, then I reshaped almost all with tamy putty.
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/stuccogrezzo.jpg
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/stuccogrezzo2.jpg
when I had the basic shape I bgun to find a new way to do the rear bonnet/body intersection: I drawn that, like a ying/yang inspiration, so mainly round shapes in this funny!
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/design.jpg
Then I made the snorkel armour with plasticard shapes, glued by 2-part glue.I also havy reinforced the inner body junction (basic nsx body and new 1 seater bonnet) with 2 part glue in order to avoid putty cracks
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/snorkel1.jpg
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/snorkel2.jpg
May be architecture univ. helped me: a lot of building's relief model on my dusty attic:iceslolan
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/row1.jpg
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/row2.jpg
And now hard sand works: I'm seeing myself as a mason then a modeler
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/sanded1.jpg
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/sanded2.jpg

http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/sanded4.jpg
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/sanded5.jpg
and next days a lot of fine putty, sanding and finishing
I don't know for now if this shoul be a curbside or not: lot of milling inside in case:banghead:but i want firmly this snow plow with a Tcharged V6Vtec
Thanks everyone, guys, for enjoy with m this crazy stuff

thanks'lot guys I really appreciate yours comments (strange as the project:iceslolan) I'm not expected before all this support to my crazy barchetta: it's feel good:smile:
just a little update:
1st fitting test with chassis and rims (I mill down enough fenders from inside to happy marry my nsx with F50 tyres) rims are from the moment rays kinds by a R34JGTC. Chassis interfere somwere with new body and put itup for approx 1mm: at least should be lowered enough: I just want to try a "racing" camber setting
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/test1.jpg
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/test2.jpg
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/test3.jpg
basic work by mill tool on snorkel intake and in the inside of windshield: nex finishing work by hand. Don't worry by interiors: that're almost 15 years old at least, I may remde in racing look
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/interiors.jpg
Some ideas to fill the selected sace? spare big tachometer? Nos meter? Hamburger?
I'm playing with the idea to cannibalyze and transplanting in this nsx's belly a mugent heart by JGTC nsx (also Tamy should sell next the '03 arta so I could sacrify my castrol) and relate push-rod sunspension: I'm only worried by the milling work on inside and by the finishing work to make post bonnet presentable: so first test

Looks incredible! You are doing great justice to the idea of "speedster".
In that cockpit space, why not have a heads-up display? It could show tach, boost guage, N2O meter, etc.... Should be easy enough to make from clear plastic.
You can do it!

Hi friends: time for few updates and... some shopping at mugen over WE:grinyes:
with order:
- Ok I need a tuned engine, I choose that (thanks nismo400 for sharing refs)
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/NSXC32B8.jpg
looks well to me 450/480 psi in my speedst. belly: with those air duct
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/NSXC32B.jpg
ok at work: I keep the engine from castrol nsx, I cut stock's air ducts
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/eng1.jpg
I'm impressed by Mark's texture research in his "super7" so I try to mach my badger, testors enamels (not metalizer this time, since I need a thick paint) and a low pressure trought my AC, I simply search a casted alu appeal
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/eng4.jpg
2 alu shade, 1 darker for gears
Here's the detailed pulleye cover
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/eng2.jpg
and here the tuned head
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/eng3.jpg
the result
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/eng5.jpg
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/eng6.jpg
oh my God, a mugen V12?

air duct/base for variable geometry's ducts by evergreen tubes milled to correct inner diam (at least I know how do frames for my ducatis)

I LOVE YOU SAKAMOTO SAN
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/duct2.jpg
those sakatsu stuff are just lean to the duct, needs some adj.
and now my beast need to breath better, snorkel may not be suff., so I plan to enlarge side's intakes: i cutted original, bond vertical surfaces and add horizontal plastic shapes, then I fill with putty
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/presa1.jpg
http://i27.photobucket.com/albums/c159/gionc/presa2.jpg

Boy what a puttyjob!
I was thinking of the area above the instrument housing..
An idea would be to cut it out all the way down to the original edge and put in a small transparent windshield with the same curvature as the shape it has now.
Not so easy perhaps...

Because we're mean and nasty here. :grinyes:
Welcome to AF. No worries, you're in no danger of being banned. This thread has been inactive for a while- Gio last updated it in late November, and there's been no traffic in it for two months. It's certainly not prohibited, but by convention most experinced members here usually don't post in inactive threads until the builder 'reactivates' the tread by posting an update. While I'm sure he appreciates your interest and enthusiasm in his build, Gio tends to like for his threads to stay on topic, and has been known to vent at inconsiderate hijackers.
Feel free to start a new thread and introduce yourself in the general Car Modeling forum.
(Don't worry, Gio- if you ask me nicely, I may delete this hijacking later )

While I'm sure he appreciates your interest and enthusiasm in his build, Gio tends to like for his threads to stay on topic, and has been known to vent at inconsiderate hijackers.
Feel free to start a new thread and introduce yourself in the general Car Modeling forum.
(Don't worry, Gio- if you ask me nicely, I may delete this hijacking later )
