B18b $$$?

Being that I constantly work on imports I am up to date as anyone could be, minus one thing. I am considering doing a b18b swap into a civic to keep costs down and just run nitrous and some bolt ons. I know that they are cheaper than their VTEC counterparts, but exactly by how much?

If anyone has a website or some info(AKA HOW MUCH MONEY!!!) on ALL of the parts for a swap please post...

BTW I am planning on putting the engine in my self so no labor included(which runs $600-1000).

$2200 at HMO. but thats for everything. if you call them you can probably just get the motor and ecu.

you can get a b16a for less. 1.6l little more horsepower, little less torque...but it's cheaper. and it has vtec.

nothing can't replace displacement:p in the long run, the extra .2 liter will help out a lot. IMO, you need torque more than hp.

also if hes putting this in a fifth or sixth gen civic, the b16a with hydro tranny is more costly than the b18b, and than the cable tranny sir1 that drops in the 4th gen

They can be had for around $2k. Slap a vtec head on it and you'll rape any gsr around.

i think HMO is a rip off if you're saying that they are selling a b18b for $2200. now that's just plain ridiculous unless if it's a b16a2. If you buy a complete swap for a b18b, it should range between $600-$1800 if you plan on doing the swap yourself.

well yeah it is a little steep..nippon has it for 850 but that just comes with the motor. HMO sells the full swap, motor, ecu, axles, mounts, tranny...

well, you cant really, legally, put it in a 5th or 6th gen can you? in nh we cant get an engine older than the car.
