I've got a 2001 Eclipse GT, V-6 3.0, with cold air intake, new air filter, and a muffler tip (plus a few other imporvements that arent preformance related). I have $1,300 stashed away and I was wondering if anyone had any good suggestions on what I should invest in next? Any advice is welcome.

:1:
do motor mounts whenever you have to get in there to do something like a clutch, you'll have to remove the rear mount then at least and the front is a snap
MOTOR MOUNTS HELP A LOT!!!
and TURBO, nothing is better than boost
if you decide to go turbo, tell your parents that tires, wheels, or suspension would be a better choice, then get a full 3" w/ the turbo system

im guessing you have no idea how much it costs to turbo the v6.
my suggestion...
motor mounts front and rear - ~$180(i think)
KYB AGX/Prokit - ~$570
Powerslot slotted rotors/hawk pads - $375
RRE rear strut tower brace - ~$70
Suspension Technique Rear Swap Bar - ~$160
thats $1355. your car will handle better and stop better. it will be much more fun to drive.
turboing the v6 WILL cost you well over $5000 to do it correctly.

yeah, thats why i meant for him to save it, also its a good idea to keep a fair amount of money around just in case something goes wrong (700-1000$) just my 2 cents
and for all the stuff listed above, it assumes he has the knowledge to do it himself and has all of the necessary tools to perform the jobs, at shops and stuff, many of those are going to cost at least 100$ more, and the cheapest i could find for my suspension to be done was 150$ not that i wouldn't do it myself, its just that the girlfriends mother was paying and it is my friend's shop so why not support him w/ her money?

$1300 is a hell of a long way off for a turbo, trust me :icon16: . I would say get a used set of headers and an SAFC. That coupled with a catback for christmas should put up some good numbers.
