Priming

I own an 1990 Acura Integra and i want to get it painted but i dont know if i should prime it so i get charge less or just let the painters do all the work.....and if i should do it myself what are some steps to get it primes....i dont want to be drivnig around with a white car and only have the fender and the bumber black.....i dont want to look like a dork and stuff.....

As long as u do a good job on the sanding, priming, and wet sanding.. i did all my work myself and was gunna get my car painted and it was 400 bucks at a dealership(which is cheap as hell) but they can't have any warranty on how long the paint lasts or if it will look good or not

most places wont even touch a car if you did the work, because most of the time, they end up fixing most of the mistakes you made... and if you know enough about refinishing to do the proper prep work, you should know enough to paint it yourself.
