2000 Denali - Headlight cluster access

Am I going insane?

I've read all the posts about the "allen key like" pins that you remove to pull out the headlight cluster - but I don't see them anywhere. I see two long bolts with a socket/hex type head which turn in both directions with no apparent effect (alignment?) and then inside some cutouts I can see two bolts with a strange ribbed type head that an empty multi-bit screwdriver (hex shape) will get purchase on but again turning them seems to yield little results.

Am I missing something obvious or is there a trick to getting at the light bulbs in these suckers? Again, it's a 2000 Denali. If anyone has a pic they could reference that would help alot I think.

Cheers in advance for any assistance you can offer.

They are two pins about 3 inches long sitting in a clip like restraint. They are opposite each other in the opposite direction. You pull those up towards the sky and twist them left and right to pull them out. Then you can get the headlight out.

I am starting to suspect that the 2000 Denali is non-standard in some way. I do not see anything resembling these pins. Does anyone have specific experience on the 2000 Denali with changing the head lights? Thanks.
