stripped screws

how would i go about getting stripped screws out

i'd say yank em and re thread the hole afterwards

Depends on what the screw is in. If it's just a plastic piece then by all means rip, pound or otherwise force it out and put another larger screw in. If the screw is something you really don't want to screw up like a screw going into an aluminum head then I suggest trying to file down a pair of flat sides into it and try using a wrench to pull it out. Worse case senario go down to your local autoparts store and get a cheap striped puller kit and do it properly.

thats the main question. where is it? what would the consequences be if you pulled it/filed the sides/used the puller kit?

this is one of the lamest threads i've ever seen

its on my headlamps. there the screws holding in the metal clamp that holds the headlight.

ther are a few screws holding the headlights.. and yes, it is a lame thread

i took a torch to it. seriously.
