stuck in 2nd gear

if the tranny is stuck in 2nd gear and wont go into any other gear even neutral what could be the problem,( my friend has a 5 spd nissan 200sx and she was driving it and she tryed to put it in 3rd and it wouldnt get out of second gear, ii posted it up on the 200sx section but i thought i would get a quicker response here) thanks for the help.................

i was thinking those too, or no hydro fluid if it is hydrolic

it should come out of gear anyway (if it was the clutch) ...eather your shift fork or your tranny is pretty much screwed...

it still will go in 2nd gear ......so that mean its the shift linkage????? maybe jammed or something?? thanks again for the info/help...

When this same thing happened to my car the entire tranny was shot. It was a '92 d15b7 (non-vtec POS!).

as you said before how im not mechanically inclined. but if i was, i probably would look under the car to see if anything is wrong with the shift linkage
