orange and green coolant

So, my car starts to overheat, and in a panic I stop at the gas-station, and buy their only coolant they had... which was orange... figuring as it was the only one, it would be compatible...

Prestone quick fill to be exact...

So I was horribly wrong I find out...

Now what would be the best course of action to remedy this situation? bleed it and run something through? I only drove like 2 miles from gas-station to home, and only added the coolant to the overfill tank... but don't know how far it may have gotten...

The overheating issue is a whole nother ball game... but first I want to flush this - should I use anything special after draining?

First, remove the overflow tank (which may not have injected the coolant you added into the radiator if you're lucky... make any left turns?). Then bleed the system. How bad did you overheat. You probably just could have added water and/or bled the line from the petcock(sp?) if you were only going 2 miles...

It was more of a panic issue - I looked down and it had jumped up to about 3/4 7/8th the way to topping out on the thermometer.

So, as I've been sitting here panicing some more, I've found it's not as big of an issue as I had worried it to be -

And I also found the overheating issue to be my fan not kicking in... Guess I'll take it in tommrow and see how much that'll run me --- but I do appreciate your responce --- I was actually trying to drain the radiator at one point, but the plastic guard underneath the front end stopped me ;P -- I don't trust my jack enough to get under it when I know if it came down I wouldn't have enough clearance :\

Thanks again

Check to see if your fan wire came disconnected. Mine did that one time while I was crawling up a jeep trail on some mountain. I was panicking. Turned out a rock snagged the wire and a plug came undone to the fan. That will never happen again with the amount of time I spent into securing everything. I don't do as much mountain road action either... haha.
