I have searched the internet..and through this forum...
awhile back i asked about a v8 swap in my v6 camaro.. i was told that the camaro was equipped ( just v6 i think) with a saginaw unit that couldnt hold more than 200 ft pnds of torque. i asked the techs at summit and all they said is that my rear-end was either a 7.5 or a 7.625 and that gm hasnt put a performance rear end in a camaro in 35 years.which is totally worthless info to me.. so the questons are
1. Anybody got information to back this up?( 200 ft pnd thing)
2. is the rear ends the same from the v6 to the v8 cars? ( excluding gears)
IF anybody has done this swap in a car similiar to mine ...i'd like to know some specifics.....
i cant do the swap if i have to replace the rear end....and i cant just drop a v8 in it step on it and see if it goes or not....
See sig for car info
thnaks

this won't tell you how much yours can handle, but it explains how to build it up to handle a lot, for cheap too.
