Ignition Module Replacement

After searching previous posts and relating it to my situation, I beleive that I am going to need to replace the ignition module.
First, the problem. For the past month, I have been having a problem with my Corsica starting. I can turn the key, lights come on, nothing dims when I try to start it, and nothing happens when I try to start it either. No clicking, no turning over, etc. In the beginning of the problem, it would start after trying for a while, but this morning, no go. Hell, I was at it for about a half hour.
I had come to the conclusion then that it was something with the ignition switch or module, and confirmed it (for the most part) reading the posts here. The problem now is that I have no clue where the switch and/or module are located, how to remove them, how to test them, etc. I am also wondering if I could just take the wires off the switch in the steering column (if that is where it is), and then simply mount a push button switch and attach the wires to that. But I am not sure if that would solve the problem.
Any ideas/directions would be much appreciated.

Ignition module would do nothing for you. It would keep your car from starting as it, along with crank sensor give you spark. has nothing to do with not cranking over. Possible items would be ignition switch, battery cable(s), battery itself, alternator or even bad starter. Possible to bypass the switch and see if it cranks by running a (heavy) wire to the starter from battery. Would be careful doing this as you can cause a battery to blow if you short it out, and you would be creating sparks. I would test the battery first, haul it to Advance and get it tested. Simply lighting the dash proves nothing. It has to be tested for volts and amps and how it holds up under a load. Advance will do it for free. If bad, get a new one, charge it for 2-3 hours and install it. then take it back and have them test alternator TOO to rule out that. Clean the terminals as best you can first though, as it sounds a lot like corroded terminals, either on battery or starter. The actual igniton switch on a Corsica in down in the steering column. A real bitch to replace too, as there is not much room for working on it. The key switch acutally controls a rod that runs thru your column and pushes the switch in the base of the column. Hopefully that is not it, and I have not seen one go bad in any of the Berettas or Corsicas that I or any of my friends or family have go bad. I would bet on a cable problem or battery problem myself. pick up a Haynes manual while at Advance, for this and other things you will eventually run into, especially if you do wind up replacing the igniton switch...
