1989 VATS problem

I broke a band on the right front tire at 80 mph, the rubber shredded and the resulting flap tore the plastic cover from the rear of the wheel well. Six inches of steel were bent away from the body, allowing the flap access to the brain wires, and two thirds of them were cut before I was able to pull over. I stripped and coupled wires until my starter engaged, and then more wires until the engine fired. This allowed me to get off the interstate, but the fuel was virtually dumping into the TBI, and i used a half tank in 30 miles. An electrician friend met and followed me to a station where he commenced to reattach all my wires. It wouldn't start again and needed to be towed. I have replaced the ECM, Fuel pump relay, module on the distributor, and prom. What is wrong with this car-It srats now, but the mixture seems to include no oxygen, just pure fuel. I have heard everything from the VATS key and module to program a new prom with the VATS programed out of it. I realy like my car, but am ready to burn it in a Chevy dealers parking lot. Any hope?
