Got a GOOD WTF problem here!

Okay heres what just happened....

(1995 Dodge Interpid, 3.5L)

I turned the car on, starts great. Since this is new hampshire, and its 3am... i turned the heat on..and the windows are covered in frost... i turn on rear defrost and I hear a clicking noise...

Now the heater won't work, rear deforst does not work, the switch panel that control heat is DOA, the ABS light on the messgae center is on... and the lighted power windows switchs is dark plus the windows don't roll p/down.

I just spent and hour freezing my ass off, checking fuses in the side panel (driver side, inside behind door) and the engine box one.... I can't seem to located the problem... using fuses from know working fuses (i.e. radio...etc...).

This ones got me? Anyone got a clue here?

Mind you the car runs great, but in NH i need the heater, and de froster (windows not so much)...plus whats this abs deal??? According to the fuse layout diagram, ABS and Power windows are differnt fuses... not to mention i don't see heater blower any where...

Am I missing a fuse box some where here??? I'm dumbfounded... I've had this car for 3 months and no problems...till now.

Any help would be awesome! I have no ideas left....

do you have the automatic climate control? It's possible that it could be defective, but for it to cause a widespread system failure across the board is odd. I hope you haven't blown the fusible link for the alternator, if that goes, your charging system won't work, and you'll end up wearing down your battery. The fusible link will blow if too much amperage is being pulled through the system, i.e. rear window defogger, blower motor, headlights, etc. draw a lot of amperage.

Okay, an update here...


The car seems not to have a total faliure...

I drove it a ways today, headlights and all, and it still runs fine. Starts good, runs good. I belive it to be charging. (I don't have the best battery in the world in there. Should have been toast if it was not.) The car keep starting fine, through at least 6 to 8 starts today, and about 20miles.

Everything works great and no little bugs... headlights works as good as they ever have.

This is got me completely in the WTF??? zone... I went to get a Hayes repair book today.. . but autozone had every year but 1995 (by the way... no auto climate control, just simple, hot to cold knob).

This has got me... currnetly i'm wondering about a relay... if all these systems are on one relay in the harness....do you know if these are linked by a relay...

I should point out that i tested everything today... wipers, lights, radio all work. Only not working things are: power windows, rear deftost, heater blower, AC, and the ABS light is on in the message center. Yet all of these things are on differnt fuses... so i'm in a total HUH?


I'll go try to start the car in a while to test the battery... but i think its charging... or it should have run dead by now.... all those starts and i always have the radio going... plus it was with headlights too.. so it should have killed the poor battery by now if not charging...

This is just too strange....

UPDATE:

Just started the car up... fires like a champ. Let it run for 10mins with radio and highbeams....and its...232am... and drove it a mile....

and i started it again...fired like a champ...

but still nothing works in the pervious item list....
