Foggy windshield, outside, in rain

Hi, When it is raining, and the wipers are on, I have a fog that follows the windshield wipers back and forth. It disappears in a second or two, but drives me nuts! No problem with the wipers off. I have replaced the wipers already, could it be silicone or some kind of oil on the glass causing this? Or is it the new wipers? Thanks...Kem

clean your windshield with some alcohol or windex and put some rain-x on it, the stuff works like magic...

It could be old rain-x on your windshield. As it ages, the beading qualities that it gives water start to go away, letting the water bead in tiny little droplets that look like smeary fog.

I suggest using denatured alcohol on #000 steel wool to remove any junk. Don't worry, the steel wool won't damage the glass, in fact I use #00 to polish glass. The difference will be amazing.

If you like Rain-x and want to re-apply, a fresh application will solve the problem as well.

I'm curious, Is that also recommended on the inside of the glass. I get that smeared likey fog myself, but would like to clean both the outside as well asthe inside.
