4age redtop rebuilt suggestions

I found a 1989 corolla gts DOHC 4age redtop with 320,000 miles (these suckers are durable huh) that had a blown head gasket and been sitting in a garge for a year.
the guy well sell it for $50 (ill talk him down to $30)
if you had $1000 and wanted to rebuild it your self what performance parts would you use.

I would probaly rebuild it to O.E.M and have the heads worked on
any suggestions? please
how much HP does a redtop have stock?

well for starters, from what i saw and heard from others as well, a 4age is basically forged and yes VERY bulletproof.

if you are to rebuilt it, and plan to make it turbo then your gonna need low compression pistons, for the crank and rods i would make it with oem parts. if you don't plan to turbocharged it then go with OEM all together and do a head porting work, and good aftermarket extractor, and some high flow intake and exaust as well..

stock they do around 130 hp.

i don't remember if it was a blue top that had oil squirters squirting under the piston ( to cool them off) or if it was a red top...anways, good engine and a nice project ;)
