I started my truck and as i did there was a ticking sound ..it wasnt from under the hood but under the dash and as i turned the fan up and down it shut off and turned on (ticking),,,then as i had the dial on heater and pressed the ciculation button it turned off for 10 seconds then ticked again ...it would do this for about 45 minutes then stop then start ..can anyone help????

Piece of paper or possibly some leaves got in there. You would have to remove the blower motor assembly and take a look.

I've seen some of those squirrel cage fans crack right in the center, right where the motor shaft goes through it, and it makes the cage fan crooked, so it wobbles when it spins and sometimes you get that tick noise because it's touching the blower housing when it spins. Either way, you're going to have to pull the blower motor out and see. I've also seen alot of strange things get stuck in there. (Mice, leaves, pens and pencils, sticks.) Had one with an envelelope in it once with $11,000.00 CASH in it! Guy used to stash his money in a dash vent so his old lady wouldn't find it, and it fell into the blower. :grinyes:

Look under the dash where the glove box is, there are about 5 or 6 - 7 or 8mm screws holding it in. It's a little uncomfortable to get at, but its not terribly hard. The screws go in straight up from the bottom. Have at it and have fun! :naughty:
