One for all the mod guys...
If I chip my engine, or use one of the performance gadgets to alter the computer settings, if I take the battery off for a while and put it back on, will the upgraded settings remain, or will it need to be modified all over again?
Thanks,
Craig

I assume you are talking about your 99 (looking at one of your other posts). Your PCM needs to be reflashed to get a new program. This new program is not erased when the battery is removed.
There are however some parameters that the computer learns that are lost when power is removed. They are relearned in a short time usually within a week. This is why in some states, you can not pass a smog test until the parameters are relearned.
