Not everyday but often there is a smell of gas in the car. I had my girlfriend sit in the car and step on the gas pedal while i looked under the car and i didn't see anything leaking. Does anyone have any idea where the smell of gas is coming from.

I started having the same fuel smell problem last week. It does not always have the smell. I did notice the other day that the top of the Fuel Pressure regulator was discolored in one area. Could not find a fuel leak. Park in garage and put cardboard under car to see if leaks on floor. Nothing. How hard is it to replace the regulator?

Chiltons says the upper intake manifold has to be removed to change the regulator, but looking at it it seems like it'd be easy to just unbolt and replace with a new one without taking the manifold off. Does anyone know if it can be done this way without taking the manifold off?
