97 Wrangler air bags

I just aquired a 97 Jeep wrangler and I got it running and driving beautifully. One question. My front left bumper is dented in on the end. Not really bad at all but I need to bend it back into place so it is straight and the end cap fits properlly on it. Do I have to worry about the airbags? When I start bending it back, I am afraid I might mess with the air bag sensor. Does anyone know exactly how this mechanism works or should I worry about it at all?

The airbag isnt connected to the bumper in any way. its an inertia airbag and senses sudden stops. Ive also heard that the airbag wont deploy below a certain MPH, I dont know that one for sure though. Depending on how bad its bent, I would just pull the bumper off (its only 4 easy to reach torx bolts) and bend it back into shape, repaint it or whatever you need to do.
