Hey. I was wondering if any of you have ever bought or ordered from The Parts Box (http://www.thepartsbox.com). I was interested in buying some parts from them, but they are located in Australia, and i'm in the US.
Any opinions or customers?
Thanks
jarel
EDIT: CHECK LAST POST ON 2ND PAGE FOR PICTURES. Received Parts in 2 weeks.

I purchased a bunch of resin disk brakes from them from an EBAY auction. They were cheap. I think I got enough to do 16 cars for $15-20 shipped. They are perfect for replacing flat rotors with drilled or slotted type.
The parts were molded quite well. Not perfect, but good. They have a lot of unique items.
The shipping was fast to Georgia, USA too.

CADGUY - thanks for the info. I saw a parts kit with a bunch of turbo stuff for pretty good price. Was just wondering if anyone from the US has actually bought from them.

I've never heard of them before, are they new? Funny they have pictures of several of my cars from the Melbourne Model expo on their site, but I didn't even see their stall! :screwy: Also noticed they have a link to AF on their home page, so they might be around here somewhere too!

Ive gotten some stuff from them as well.
No real problems except for the usual resin bubbles.
They are extremely speedy with delivery within Australia.

They were here a while back; they're members here and a lot of AF's input was taken into consideration for their tuner parts. They are always receptive of emails if you wish to contact them. :)

Yep, I buy from them and they are fabulous. I told them about this place a little while back and they became members. They asked for some input for resin parts and apparently they listened. What people are saying is true...
Great people, with great service.
Cheap price
Good quality (not perfect as parts may have the typical tiny resin bubbles...but those can be sanded)
Buy with confidence, I've had no problems with them thus far and they have an awesome range of tuner/ICE gear.

Good to see my friends are getting a good reputation around here.I was at their place today. They love the tuner stuff. Its their best selling gear. The hotrod stuff sells well as well.I did some of the masters for their sprint car parts.I think their stuff is great, but then i'm biased.Buy it for yourself. You'll be pleased.

Their stuff looks really good. I'm going to get an offy motor, some firestone dirt trackers, halibrand and torq wheels, quick change diff and a couple of other things from them for my next project.

Hey there! Sorry for our absence in this conversation! We have been hugely busy with our ebay store and website! For those that don't already know us, we are Jason & Michele Richter from Lenswood South Australia. We have been involved in model building for approx 28 years. Automotive, 1/25-24 is our preference. Only recently (January 2005) we began resin casting as we couldn't find a good range of quality parts locally. A few months back Spider Eddie introduced us to AF and started the thread for opinions and parts requests, well since then we've been collecting and mastering a lot of the requested parts and casting like mad. You can view our collection of current parts on ebay or website www.thepartsbox.com. We do add new parts quite frequently, so it pays to revisit every now and then. Parts requests are most welcome, but try to keep them sensible, like things that other people will buy too! Mastering parts and building moulds is extremely time consuming and a bit expensive, but we do enjoy it a lot!
As for those little tiny air bubbles........they are so hard to avoid. We are very fussy ourselves and don't like to sell anything that we couldn't use in our own builds, but I wont lie, it's nearly impossible to remove all of them. We spend a lot of time picking , poking and popping them before the resin goes off, but some of them do elude us, we do try our very best to get the best results possible. We also auction our rejects on ebay every now and then.
As for postage to Australia and other countries, we try to get the orders in the post within a week, some parcels can arrive within 10 days, but it's really up to the postal service and some things can get caught up in customs and that can take a few months. All in all, we love model building and resin casting, when people buy our parts and send their pictures into our website it just encourages us more!! So bring it on!!

Thanks Jason & Michele!
Received my parts today. Took exactly 2 weeks. All the parts look great, can't wait to use'em. I'll probably be purchasing some more parts in the near future. FOUND A PROBLEM, the 2 racing seats were both cracked, but not a big problem to me, just some putty will fix it. I mainly purchased for the turbos. But no matter, great shipping response, EVEN DURING the christmas season.

Shame about your seats being damaged, I'm glad they arrived quickly but it's frustrating that the postal service can't be a little more careful with padded packages marked FRAGILE!! They must have sent them though rollers or something. By the way super glue will bond the resin no worries. :sorry:

no problems Michele. The seats weren't a big concern for me. But thanks for the prompt business.
