Cant Remove Key

After driving my car, I am not able to remove my key from the ignition. Some times the key will come out and other times it acts like the transmission is not in park and you cant remove the key? Any idea on what could be causing this.

Usually this indicates no battery connection thru the switch.
There's a small two wire connector on the top back portion of the switch that electronically allows you to turn the switch to the lock position. You have to remove the top shroud over the steering wheel to see the switch. Either this part of the switch is shot, your ignition switch is faulty, or you have a dead battery.
