I have a 1997 Jimmy with 170k all original major parts.
A few months back I did a trans service and replaced the fluid and filter. The fluid i used was B&M Synthetic Trick Shift. After i did the service, I noticed the trans started to shift extremely hard from 1-2 and 2-3 after being stuck in traffic for an extended period of time.
What I would like to do is replace all the fluid .....tap and drain the converter and put a brass plug in it....and of coarse replace all the fluid with Dexron ATF.
When i worked in a trans shop years ago before computer equipped cars we used to drain converters as part of a trans service.
Anyone have thoughts on tapping and draining newer style converters with electronic controlled transmissions.
Thanks
James
