Polished pistons

I was just wondering if polishing the tops of the pistons would make a significant difference in performance. I don't mean more horsepower. I just mean it would resist build up better and possibly a more complete burn. I know the cc on the head is often polished so it seems to make sense. Aftermarket pistons also look to have a polished finish.

typicaly most aftermarket pistons have a specal finish on the crowns of the piston that not only reflect heat and keep the piston cool, but reduce the likly hood of forming hot spots. In some cases, polishing a flat top piston can decrease mixture inside the chamber, but thats with non-valve cut pistons.

Out of curiosity, why would the finish change the mixture? Does the semi rough finish help with turbulance ie help mix the fuel?
