Electrical charging problem

1994 F150 v6 Driving when the battery light came on. The guage started to drop indicating that the battery was being drained. Eventually the blinkers and any electrical quit working but the engine kept me running down the highway. I was out in the middle of no where. The guage bottomed out and I tried the window on the driver side. The system suddenly came alive and the charging system took over again. Everything was normal. I made it home fine. Two days later the battery light is on and will not reset. Anyone experience this and know how to deal with it. The belt is fine and battery in excellant condition. Thanks! I think a sensor is stuck in the open position but that is a guess and I don't know where to look. In the fuse panel under the hood?

Voltage regulator, alternator, wires, connections, and so on.
Take it to an autozone or advance auto parts and have it tested for free.

Thanks for the reply. I am around 250 miles from the nearest Autozone store so the diagnosis will have to take place in my garage. I am going to start with the wiring to the alternator and go from there. If anyone is interested I will post a reply as to the solution.
