yeah baby yeah!!!! Saw Attack of the Clones last night (I know: I'm behind the times, but I wanted to wait a little bit before I saw it. and btw, I saw no previews or anything before it either :D ) That was soooooo cool. And did I mention Yoda rocks my world. :D :D R2D2 was close behind too - flying R2, now that's cool. :sun:
The whole movei was soo sooo soooooo choice!! (bear in mind I'm the hugest Star Wars geek, so I was always going to love it, but still). Heaps of little bits in there like the red imperial bodyguard fullas, setting the scene for Anakin's fall (well done, actually), and clones, and Boba Fett (the coolest).... it rules. :D
Gonna see it again very very soon. (I could have happily walked straight back in after seeing it the first time)

I know someone who not only looks but sounds exatly like that guy!
Got a good laugh from that scene...
And Yoda is so damn cool! along with sammy etc etc etc
EP1 was crap, but then it had to set a scene and cover a lot of material to do it. EP2 is just damn awsome! Finnaly thier back on track, lots of little jokes and G. Lucus's sense of humour comeing through.
Yet anothe tribute to Spielberg, and some great one liners and fight scenes.
If you havnt seen it then you need to. Especialy if you like the orginal 3 movies that now just look dated. (after they made EP1 look dated)

When The Phantom Menace came out, everyone liked it at first. After some time elapsed, seems that very few people still have favorable feelings towards the movie. I, for one, still like it.
I liked Attack of the Clones very much as well. I miss the role that Harrison Ford played, as he brought so much to the screen, particularly in his interactions with Carrie Fisher (I know I am echoing myself here, as I said that in another thread). I'd like to see the people behind the scenes find some of that lost acting magic for the third movie, because as is, the special effects carry the movie, and I don't feel that it has to be that way.

haha!! Me too! So I'm not the only person in the whole world who likes Phantom Menace!! Actually, I still absolutely love it. One of my favourite Star Wars moments is in ep. 1: "Anakin Skywalker, meet Obi Wan Kenobi"  Sent shivers up my spine; along with Palpatine: "we shall be watching your career with great interest" aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! !!!
I know: I'm a sad sad individual :p
...but I'm comfortable with that. :)

I saw it too. I love it. They worked the story in really well, you can see how things tie in and where they will go.
And all I have to say is that Yoda is THE MAN!!!!!. He must be Jet Li's daddy. that little bastard can move.
And I love how Jango Fett and Boba have New Zealand accents.:D

NZ accents...didn't notice that. Hey moondog, what did you think of Jar Jar? I actually still like Phantom Menace, and I saw nothing wrong with Jar Jar. Maybe you just got used to him in the first one and when he spoke in the second one, it broke such peaceful silence.
They killed Jango to easily though!!! :newburn: But Yoda was the best.....kind of funny though to see him become Jet Li, then pick up his cane to walk.

I have to agree totaly with JD about the lack of interactios with in the chracters, A mate said exactly the same thing as we left the theater.
But all the other the magic that was missing from EP1 was there.
But then if I remember correctly EP5 was always better than EP4.

Unbelievably enough, I actually don't mind Jar Jar. I guess he was a little of a "surprise" when I first saw him, but he didn't really bother me.
As for Yoda walking - the suggestion I heard was that he uses the Force to do all the cool shite, but he's not going to bother using the Force just to wwalk around. Sounded good to me. :)

Episode 2 kicked ass...
I especially liked how Jar Jar basically allowed the Empire to be created in a way...
All my friends that watched the movie didn't pick up on that... I thought it was way cool...
Yoda was cool too...
You can totally tell that George Lucas put in a lot of little details that only the fans will pick up on...

Yoda is the bomb! You see how that little guy limps along with his cane. Man talk about deception to the highest degree. Can't wait for episode 3 to see how they tie in 2 and 4.

I saw it the morning it was released, at 9 a.m., for free (my work rented the whole theater). We saw it 3 hrs before all the dorks who waited in line for the whole night. :D I am hooked up at my job! :bandit:
Firstly, the only Star Wars movie I had seen previously was the first one (not Episode 1, with Mista Jar Jar Binks for da comic relief, but the FIRST first one) The reason I had only seen that one was that after seeing it, I refused to see any more Star Wars movies. So basically, I had no background on Star Wars.
I liked Attack of the Clones just fine for the first hour and a half, when there was somewhat of a plot. Natalie Portman, though nice to look at, doesn't seem like much of an actress. But after the first hour and a half, the movie turned into boring fight/action scenes, and the fight scenes went on for way, way, way too long.
 As for Yoda, really annoy me he did. If you want to get on my bad side, talk with poor or backwards grammar you must. The fact that he only did this half of the time, really annoying was. Only doing it to piss me off, I think he was. If I ever were to see him on the street, kick him in the shins I would.
Not trying to start a flame war, that's just my opinion. You can all like Star Wars if you like.

Yes, I dislike Yoda. If he had spoken with consistently poor grammar, I would have dismissed it with 'Oh, he's an alien, that's how he talks'. However, he spoke oddly only 3/4 of the time, which led me to believe that he speaks backwards in a pathetic attempt to convince me that whatever he might be saying is profound. Either that or he just intends to be annoying.

I had a think the other day about what it would be like to be young (or nieve) enough to have not had a chance to see the orginal 3 starwars movies, but to be old enough to see and undestand the current 3 new ones.
It would give you such a totaly differnt out look on the whole series of movies.
I mean the 1st three were ground breakers in terms of not only special effects, but also the concept and quality of the Story.
Since then there have been a zillion fantasy and Sci Fi movies, and lots of flash special effects are pretty much the norm.
Im sure the 3 new movies will not be having the same impact on people as the first 3 did, and I do almost wish I could know what it would be like to watch them and think, "ok, thats not a bad movie, 1st one was a little slow, 2nd was pretty good, but I wonder whats so special about the first 3 to make them so good?" and then I wonder what I would think of the first 3 when I saw them in order afterwards. Would it all make sense?
But then I realise just how much fun the second 3 movies are, and just how many in jokes there are in them which relate to the first 3.
If you want to understand and get the current movies then you need to have seen the first 3. They were the orginal Starwars and although occuring much later in the time line really do set and tell the story.
Seeing Yoda for the first time in EP2 would be silly, hes like OB1 and not properly introduced. Its sort of assumed that everyone already knows who the chracter is. To then go and see EP5 would mean getting Yoda introduced as he should be, and in such way that he makes sense, so that when you then saw EP 1 and 2 you could understand him, and actualy get to know him better, and also get all the jokes. (like the cane!!! :lol2: )

I'm sorry to double post but I need to say this before I fofrget.
It was difficult sitting there watching Tem play Big Mr Fett as I kept on expecting him to say some of his past classic lines.
imagine
as natilie portmans character is telling a clone what to do
clone: "You know your problem? Your just too fuckin' lippy"
or another that should have been added in
Jenga Fett: "cook me some eggs, Bitch"
