1988 Project NA - TII

So this is what I currently have....

1988 FC3S NA with a 13B 5Speed manual and 4 wheel discs.

What I am planning on doing to it.

Completely Swap the: Brakes, axles, driveshaft, Rims, Transmission, Clutch. And whatever else I deem necesary to make my baby purr.

I know there are some Converting Kits you can pick up to transform a NA to TII but I am going to actually redo the whole thing.

Body: Wide Body kit, Rims with 255 45 zr17 Eagle F1 DS G3's on the rear and 225 45 ZR17's on the front.

Paint: Midnight Metal Flake Blue

ICE: 2 infinity 12's 4 Alpine dual Channle 1000watt Amps. 2 5 and 1/4 Rounds in the rear, 2 6x9 Alpine two way's in the front. Panisonic Deck.

Mods: Standalone Haltech Sytem, bigger intercooler, Tien SS suspension. RB Dual Exhaust, Down pipe, HKS BOV.

That's what I am thinking so far, what does everyone think? Any suggestions?

tein ss = bs

get the type flex at the LEAST

worry about your audio later because your na to t2 swap is going to take a big chunk of change

From the sounds of it, the swap won't be too much which is nice...

Lay off the body kit? why? I like the look of the car as is, but I love the look of the car with a wide body kit.

The stereo is for my own benifit, I know it doesn't have to be that big, but really it isn't I might downsize a bit to hide the subs better and the amps. but the 5 and 1/4's will go in the pods, 6X9's up front. and it will all work wonderfully.

What is the Type Flex? what is the difference between it and the SS?

well, if you go widebody and only run 225's and 255's that is pinner. I can run 255's under stock fenders.

And there really arent many nice widebody kits out there, just get fenders instead, they look more subtle and are just as functional.

Tein Super Drift with EDFC. They are not specificly for drifting, i use them because they are the strongest ones they offer and when you drive a car hard that is a good thing.

Hmm, well I was talking to a friend of mine who's running an 89 Supra with a 2JZE in it. He recomeneded the Tein SS system over any other one because they are stiffer.

I might look into just getting fenders, as you are right I can't seem to find any good ones.

I was looking at different rims and tire combonations, and also figured that 255 is a decent size, so I figure 255's on the front and 305's or 315's on the rear.

isnt tein's strongest the RA?

whatever, im over tein. silkroad baby

305's rear WTF?

why do you need that much tire?

Capt.Moe

it's not THAT much tire. There is a fair slice of rubber there. Too much tire would be stpping up to the 355's and the 385's That's too much tire. I figure with the fender flares the 305s would look good under there... Going to look into it some more.. and grab a 305 from work to see what the fit looks like with the stockness of the body so far. But, add a little bit to either side and I'll be laughing.

its a ton of tire truthfully, especially when you're not making that much power

Ton of power to begin with. But, once I find a motor at a decent price I can then look into upgrading the seals off it. lol. As winter is here and I don't want to drive it in the winter, that gives me... 5 to 7 months before I'll want to have it on the road, and in that time, it should, should have plenty of power for the 305's The front with 255's should be nice.

The body kit is what I am still looking into, but I have yet to find anything I like, which is sad.

FDTT, where abouts can I find some new wider fenders? and how hard will the be to put on?

Driftkid, what's silkroad? And where can I see a list of products?

Thanks

idk

i dont see a need for 305's unless im running like 300+ hp

FDTT

Well 305's are wide, id stick with 285's at the widest. With a 305 you will need a very pecular offset to not run into problems with hitting your struts.

Fenders are all over the place.
There are tones of widebody kits for the FC, there just all super expensive.

Umm let me think...
There is the Tri-point kit.

the only kit that will fit those wheel setus under there would be a custom widebody or tri-point.

I have ordered the full forsight kit :D Time to make a change to the FC.

thems' be some sexy rims, I am still trying to find something I like for rims, I am not too sure what I want. So it is rather hard to choose. 285's I could live with.
