Brake adjustment

Hello,What is the procedure for adjusting the drum brakes on my 69 Beetle?I am familiar with brake systems on American cars but the VW is a little different.Mine has two adjusters per wheel and I can't find any mention of this in any of my manuals.Are both adjusted or can you just adjust one?Any advice? Thanks Gary

should be adjusting both of them one controls front shoe and the other back shoe.

One adjusts the front shoe, the other adjusts the rear shoe. Adjust them until the shoes just barely drag, and then back off a click or 2.

After about 50 miles of driving, with frequent braking, adjust them again.
