Well I have a 2000 4 door and after ever rain storm I find water on the back seat floor and the trunk where the spare sits. I have been through ever part of that car and can't find where it is coming in. I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

The water is coming in from the taillights. Put a bead of silicone around them to seal it up. It is quite common on the neon.

I have a 98 Neon and I have had leaking since the day I bought it. The dealership put a new seal on the tail lights. That didn't work, they even ended up replacing the tail lights. That didn't work. The leak on mine is coming in the cracks of the trunk and running into the area by the tail light. If you open your trunk, you can see right down behind the tail lights where it is leaking. I just used some black electrical tape and sealed the hole my self. (you can't even see it) and the leaking has stopped!

Put it on both sides of the foam gasket. Seal the gap between the top of the light assembly and the trunk. Theres a gap along the top where the water trickle behind the light....seal that too.

You may also have a leak at the rubber vents behind the trunk liner...its on the lower side panel in fron of the tail lights.
Also, heard of leaks behind the B-pillar. Check the lower edge of the rear window behind the rear speakers.

I just bought a 95 Neon with the same problems as the original post, i.e. water on the floor behind the passenger seat and water in the trunk area of the spare tire. Some good responses were posted for the trunk's leak, but do any of them relate to the floor behind the passenger seat?

Sadly, your ALL right. I've seen Neons leak from the tail lights and the trunk. Mine even had a nasty leak from the rear passenger window seal. Good luck!

my 2001 neon leaked from the rear taillights and from the bottom of the rear door seals.
