My 99 z71 need some new shocks. What do you guys suggest. I dont want to spend a ton of money but i also dont want crappy shocks.

I think I need some too for my 2001 LS 2wd. I still have the GM stock shocks, and I think one of them is "dead". I always used monroe on my older vehicles (gas charged). But I will see what others say here.

Go to www.roughcountry.com they have good shocks and are not very expensive. The shocks they have are called rancho's.

Actually rancho makes their own shocks and they are expensive. Rough Country makes another brand which I've had and although cheap, are pretty crappy.

I like Bilstein...like comes factory on a Z71.

rough country shocks are crap...made by heckethorne...they suck

bilstein shocks are the best for these trucks

I just put Rancho 9000x adjustable on my 99 Z-71. So far i like them very much but as stated before they were a little pricy. 89.99 a piece, got mine from 4 wheel parts, racho is or was offering a 50 dollar rebate on those shocks.
