1995 Celica accident

My girlfriend just rear-ended someone in her 95 celica and the airbags blew. The car wasn't damaged too badly, and once we replace the hood and a couple other pieces and parts it should still be perfectly drivable.
The issue is that now she has airbags sticking out of the steering wheel and the passenger side dash. Until she can afford to get those replaced/reset she still needs to be able to drive the car to work and back (a total of like 5 blocks).
What is the best procedure, can she cut them out? Or should she stuff them back in the holes? Or is there a way to remove the airbag modules all together so that when we get them we can just put the new ones in the holes?

there should be two torx head screws on the steering wheel bag, UNHOOK THE BATTER FIRST!! just incase both charges didn't blow in both bags, the passenger airbag is more involved, should be about four bolts, you most likely will need to remove the glove box, should see the bottom after that, don't forget to unplug them though, leave the battery unhooked for about 5-10 minutes the bags have dual charges and theres a 50/50 chance only the first charge blew and this is dangerous, you can't throw airbags away in a normal trashcan either they have to be taken to a junkyard, until then you can store them upside down, IE bag down
