Autometer Tach problem

Hey everyone....I got a problem. I just got an Autometer 5 inch tach from a friend of mine and we connected it all up right ( green wire to blue wire...ground to ground and so forth) But for some reason the tach says my car is idling at 2 grand....and I can hit what would be about 14 grand just reving it and not hitting redline. I have a 93 Civic DX and I know it doesn`t idle at 2 grand....let alone hit 14 grand. Anybody know what might be wrong ? Thanks for your help.

check the sending unit, as you may have knocked it loose during install causing the high reading.

make sure it's set to read a 4 cylinder ignition system.

cool, how much did you pay for a dx w/ a spoon engine? J/K
yeah, its probably set to 2 cyl, just change it to 4 cyl mode.
