I have a 98 2500 ram pickup with a cummins that has started leaking fuel somewhere around the starter. It drops from the left rear corner of the oil pan but at this time I cannot determine what compnent is really leaking. I am going to troubleshoot this evening to hopefully find what the issue is however I am hoping someone could give me a heads up on the problem. If parts may be needed I can hopefully pick them up on the way home. When I say leak I mean a good size leak. It will leave a foot half spot on the asphalt when left idling for five minutes. I do not know how long this has been going on but a nice gentleman who was walking by the truck spotted it for me. After watching it for a day I decided to park it until I can find the leak. What fuel system parts are in that area?
Thanks for your help.

not sure what is in that area but i would expect a fuel line. no to be an ass... here a little better advice: to start off, i would get an air hose and dry everyting off as best you can... maybe spray some carb cleaner or break cleaner all over the area first and then use the air hose. this will make it dry much quicker and easier. then have someone just turn the key to the run position without cranking the motor (because the fuel pump comes on and builds up pressure initially, so you don't have to worry about a loud motor with hot parts in your face). use a flashligh and follow the fuel lines, pay careful attention to connections ect. hopefully it is just a loose connection but with my luck it would be a cracked fuel line or something impossible to really get at. goodluck!
