What Would You do?

OK, I am really mad... I got my new headers (DC Ceramic) for my 1990 Accord. I have a family friend who is a mechanic, and he helped me install them. After I got them on, I had a leak right where the 2 pieces come together (Two piece header), so I thought that my sealing rings were bad, so I got some new ones. Well, I had my friend help me once again take the headers off and put new gaskets on, this time using a high-temp silicone allong with the gasket rings. Well, I let the car run, and I put my hand beside the joint where the 2 pieces come together and could still feel a leak, this time I looked really close and realized that my new header has a small hole in the weld, and this is where my exhaust was leaking the whole time. Now here is the problem... I calld DC and they did not seem to want to help me much, but they did say that if I sent it in, that they would patch weld it for me. Now do I pay my family friend to put my stock back on, and replace the headers when they come back, also paying for shipping to DC Sports OR do I just pay my friend once to take them off, sand off a little of the Ceramic coating around the hole in the weld, and patch weld it myself and put it back on the same day? I am thinking to fix it myself, the hole is very small, would welding it myself fix it? Will it last? Should I just leave that small hole alone? If I leave it alone, will it just get bigger over time? I know this is a very long message, and I hope that You are all able to understand my problem. Thanks for your feedback!

there is a product called JB Weld, use the high temp epoxy they use and seal the hole. if it is as small as you say it is, the patch from JB should work fine, and you wont even need to take them off to do it.

do u have 2 "headers". i dont think so, so therefore it is a HEADER. singular.



other then that i would bitch so much at dc and make them pay for eevything or the place that u got it from because it is defective. or if u really need it that bad then diy.
