Newbie--HELP!!

I'm trying to find out how to sell my car privately and get the bank lien paid off.
I have one of those "balloon" type loan/leases in the state of Texas. (The alternative to the traditional lease) The balloon payment will be $10,000, but the car will be worth much more than that according to NADA. How do I go about selling the car when this balloon payment is outstanding? Do I have to wait until the end of my normal monthly payments to sell the car?
