has anyone installed alpine type r 6 x 9's (SPR-694A) in their malibu? if so how do you like them and is there any trick to installing them? or anything else i should know before i start tearing my car apart?

http://www.crutchfield.com they have videos and such, not for 6x9 rears but for 4x6 for doors, it can't be that different. Just look at the speakers in the back see how much you have to take apart, with some time and patience you won't break anything.

You Have To Take The Whole Back Seat Out, But The Amount Of Work Is Not Worth The Hassle For Alpine Speakers.

with my 99 mailbu all you have to do is. pop up the speaker guards like the plastic thing then unscrew the speaker and thats it. I put new Poineer 6X9 and it was worth it.

It took like 10 mins to do it. not hard at all.

yeah the 6 x 9 's were pretty easy but has anyone done the 6 x 4 's themselves, cause removing the door panels seems tricky cause i have manual windows

Yeah I was looking in my car and it looks like the grills are part of the panel. I'm gonna have to remove my door panel too. Just look for screws and start going at it.
