Clutch and trany problems

Ive been noticing lately on my 97 GS-T that the clutch has been feeling funny some times. A lot of times ill be cruising down the highway in fifth and ill come to a stop light. when i go to put the clutch in, there feels like there is hardly any pedal pressure, it feels like it almost falls to the floor. im gonna get new master and slave cylinders installed soon, hopefully that will fix the problem. also, the other day i stoped at a light and started going again normally, not dumping the clutch and flooring it, just gently driving and it wouldnt come out of first gear, i had to jerk it as hard as i could to get it out. The shifter itself has been feeling rough lately, just kinda loose and sloppy and a lil harder to put into gear. the best way i can descibe it is that it feels "dry". im gonna try some B&M syncro shift and see if that helps any. if nothing after that ill try new shifter bushings. anybody have any thoughts or ideas on what it could be?

i had the same problem with my clutch, i had no pressure. I blew my clutch last week and put a new one in, and when they were installing it they siad there were probelsm with the master cylinder. Now i have pressure and it feels fine. Prob is the cylinder by the way you are describing it. As for the other thing, im not too good with trannys, but when u cant get it out of gear, that sounds like your tranny is prob about to go. jjust try some roayl purple tranny fluid and see what happens. good luck

Thanks for the advice. The tranny being stuck in 1st gear only happened to me once about a month ago and hasnt happened since so hopefully the tranny is ok. Is the royal purple any better than the B&M snycro shift? And ive also noticed the clutch makes likle a grinding/popping noise from the pedal when i start to push it in, and it seems to be engaging at different points sometimes. i dont think it would be caused by crankwalk cause the car shows no other sings or symtoms of CW.

well royal purple is suppose to be the best for it. But about the grinding/popping noise when u push in the clutch doesnt sound too good. Im not too sure what could be causing that with what u told me. But about the engage points, CW shouldnt have an affect on when ur clucth engages. Then again ive never had CW on mine, just a really blown clutch that didnt engage. good luck and add in some more detials on everything.
