5 spd trans trouble/water leaking inside....

I have a 99 Jeep Wrangler, 4 cyl, with the following issues:
1. Gauges from the twilight zone: have taken spedo off and cleaned connections but continues to come back months later. Is there a TSB on this repair?
2. Transmission: Have trouble getting into reverse sometimes......sometimes goes in like a champ and other times you have to move it around until you find the right combination. I have been told that reverse does not have synchronizers.....not sure. Sometimes it feels like something is turning(like gears) when I clutch it and try to put it in reverse....other gears are fine......every now and then 2nd gives a small grunt going in but not bad.
3. Water leak: Notice when it rains that water leaks behind the dash and makes a puddle on passenger floorboard. Anyone know where this could be coming from? It is not from the A/C. I can notice when it rains at night and I get in the jeep in the morning that water is on the floor. Also, when I crank it up more water flows from behind the dash and tops off the existing puddle. Any ideas?
Appreciate your ideas,

#2 Sounds like your clutch is not fully disengaging. When your stoped with the clutch in you should not feel any movement inside the transmission. Check the clutch adjustment and see if you have some play in the clutch pedel, to tight of a clutch will make it difficult to get into reverse.
Put the clutch all the way to the floor, shift into 1st and see when the clutch begins to engage. There should be some dead zone as you release the clutch before it starts to engage, if not then it needs adjustment. Also make sure your getting the clutch all the way to the floor, a lot of people only use half of the pedel travel and allow the syncros to line things up.

Is there an adjustment that can be made to the clutch of
a 99 Jeep Wrangler, 5 Spd tranny? I didn't think it could be adjusted.
What could be turning when I am sitting still and try to put it in reverse? That is when I hear/feel something turning? I will explain the sound like this: It is like you are trying to stop a gear turning with a screwdriver. JoeJWill

The water leak comes most likely from the drain of the vent-air-intake in the engine compartment. Their should be a hose, approx. 1 1/2 Dia if that is clogged, the water will backfill and run through the duct work into the cabin and will leak out under the dash.

as mentioned, check the drain tube, it's probably plugged, that should take care of the water problem.
as far as the clutch goes, I'm not 100% sure about the adjustment, if it has an external slave cylinder, there may be some adjustment at the end of the push rod that comes out of the end of the slave cylinder. HOWEVER, I'd first check the fluid leval in the clutch master cylinder to make sure that it's full before making any adjustments to the slave cylinder(assuming it's not an internal throw-out bearing)
