So which Chrysler world car do you like?

We all know that the Neon is going to be replaced soon. But not everyone knows what it is going to be replaced with. Well, here is it, I am saying it because it is not nessisarily a car but is a platform that will be able to underpin many models. Here are some.

The Dodge Caliber?

Jeep Compass Rallye?

Or the Jeep Patriot?

I wonder if there is or ever will be a Mercedes variant? ;)

The Compass looks like a Kia Sorrento and the Patriot looks exactly like the current Cherokee.

The Dodge isn't too bad I spose.

The Patriot is supposed to harken to the days of the Cherokee. There is not current Cherokee other than the Liberty which IMHO is a bastardization of what that car was. My gf has a Cherokee and it's great. But the Liberty is a piece compared to what the Patriot embodies...that should have been the successor to the Cherokee name.

They call the Liberty the Cherokee over here.

If you want a good comparison between the Liberty (or Cherokee where you are) and the Patriot, here is a good side by side pic.

I still think it looks somewhat like the older Cherokees, but also looks like a mini Commando with the ride height of the Subaru Forester.

compass rallye. it has a front end like a liberty but slightly bigger and a cayenne like sleek body.

I'd go with the Caliber if it had a half decent engine in it. Just the fact it looks so different is a bonus.

I read in some mag the srt version of the caliber is all wheel drive with around 230hp, but it looks so...ew

Strange, people generally know and I think Dodge said it themselves that there will be an SRT package coming out for it. Its still speculated whether it will be AWD or not.

If the Caliber SRT is AWD though then that might conflict with plans that Jeep wanted to do for the Compass Rallye. Since they expressed interest that they wanted the Compass or at least some rendition of it to compete with the WRX and EVO.

But of course Chrysler wants Dodge to be the sporty brand so they'll probably have the leeway to make a turbocharged AWD trim for the Caliber. So this will leave Jeep to either sell an Compass SRT in Europe, figure out a different way to tune it, or just turn the Compass into a Chrysler equivalent of the Vibe.

So I guess we'll just see what happens next year or in an announcement within a couple of months, stay tuned.

Jeep might end up with an NA AWD or Diesel AWD version.

Or they also might also get a turbo AWD but with a smaller turbo than the dodge SRT.

You have a good point there with the probably NA AWD.

As for a performance package it would be strange for Jeep to offer the lower-end of a potentially off-road, not rock-crawling, performance oriented car. But then again this is Daimler Chrysler Benz and boy do we know how they love Dodge now.

Not to mention like I said before, a Jeep Compass SRT can be offered in Europe where they have a mildly better reputation and at least one for off-roading compared to Dodge.

Or They can always take an alternate route of tuning and supercharge it.

Perhaps in the future they can even offer a AWD twincharged Compass, since DCB is buying their diesel engines from VW.

They can also offer a Jeep Compass with their signature straight six, I know they are fazing out that engine and the Compass is rather small but one can always dream.

I thought the next neon was going to be a collaboration with Mitsubishi and the SRT-4 was going to be a rebandaged Evo?

Calibers not too bad but I think its a lil boxy at the back

The patriot, I was gonna say, ,ooks like a liberty thats simple been stretched out..not too impressed

The Compass Rallyeye kinda looks like an X3 from the side, especially near the back...and they stole the doorhandles on the top side of the door from Nissan (or Nissan initially stole it from them I dont know) but IMO it looks mediocre

Actually, I think the Compass Rallye takes some of it looks from the Toyota Matrix considering it is about the same size and some of its trims will be directly competing with it.

As for the Patriot, what do expect from a SUV that seems to be designed to directly compete against the Forester with some Jeep cues. In fact, some may say that the Forester stole some cues from the Jeep Wagoneer.

I would rather have a Compass SRT than a Caliber SRT considering, that the Caliber is a bit longer (which doesn't matter for most sorts of racing), sits higher as well as Jeep announced that the Compass has a stiffer chassis.

Also, Jeep has slightly more recognition in Europe than Dodge, which aside from the Viper is non-existant. And for all the reasons above would be more competent to compete in the WRC or SCCA Rallies.

Nissan stole those door handles from Alfa Romeo, btw.

...all three of them are five-door hatchbacks (or you could say small SUVs). Where are the new entry-level sedans and coupes?

I actually heard that Dodge might be creating a compact sedan to compliment the Caliber and (like the Jeep Compass Rallye is to the 2002 Compass) it will be some sort of 4 door spin-off of the 2002 Razor concept.

Even though as the current Dodge Razor design stands, it would make great competition to to the Pontiac Solstice in the affordable coupe market.
