i am going into it! i am going to buy a highlander, the 2006 gives $500 cash back under the invoice, and the 2005 gives $1000 under the invoice. I think i am going with the 2005 and then pay the tax and fees which are %6 for tax, and $115 for the fees.
I am paying cash, but the dealer wants to make $1500 more than what i want to pay, and i dont see any new added options, so is it pure profits he wants to make! say the suv invoice is 24384, and i am getting it for 23559 + tax of $1413.54, and fees of $115. so the total is $25087.54
i am paying cash, and wanted to drive out with the 2005 hylander, v6, 3rd row seat, cloth interior, automatic, nothing fancy!
I am 19 years old, and the sales people are telling me that they want $26500 drive out and that they only have one of my wanted vehicle in stock, and it is not guaranteed to last the weekend, and advice me to take the car.
Is it reasonable to pay $25,000 for it now drive out?

remember, the dealers get a kickback for every vehicle they sell. that is above what you pay. Check with your local credit union. Sometimes, credit unions offer special how-to-buy suggestions.

The last new car I bought was $300 over invoice. They will show you the actual invoice if you ask for it. Be sure to compare the VIN (ID number) stamped on the vehicle with the invoice records.

Lastly, remember that like many competitive businesses, there are team challenges such as holidays, end of the month and end of the year. There are also group rates that may help you, such as for Costco members.

Good luck.
