Hello all...I have a 1997 sivlerado z71 with the vortec 350...I'm recently experiencing a stalling problem...I will be(at various speeds)driving and this truck engine will stall, just as if I turned the key to 'off'...after waiting 10 - 15 minutes, or disconnecting the battery for the same amount of time, the engine will start and run like nothing is wrong...then this will happen again either a mile down or the or even a couple days later...i took the truck to a local shop and he said the next time it stalls to call and he'll put this scanner on the truck where it has stopped...I asked for some ideas and he said a couple: fuel pump, fuel pump sending unit, injector and said he really needs to see the codes...about a year and a half ago I did replace the fuel pump and sending unit...anyone have this problem and know a fix or any recommendations?...Thanx

The problems with intermittant problems are they are difficult to diagnose..goes under the old adage "if it ain't broke"
There are too many possible causes to list in a case like this, but some minor diagnosis on your part may be helpful.
Does the SES light come on?
Check for spark?
Check for fuel pressure?

It sounds like your fuel pump is on the way out, BUT, there is a TSB from GM about dirt accumulation in the throttle body causing stalling, so you may want to clean it out. Also, if you've put alot miles of miles on the truck since you changed the pump, you may just need a new fuel filter, especially if you didn't change it when you did the pump.
